Terms of Use.
Last updated: 5 August 2026
These terms govern your use of Aya. We have kept them as short and as human as a legal document allows. Where these terms and our Privacy Policy overlap, the stronger protection for your family applies.
1. What Aya is
Aya is a family service. Each evening it sends one question to a parent on WhatsApp; the parent replies with a voice note when they wish. Family members may privately ask Aya questions, and Aya replies using only what the parent actually said. Aya is a way for questions to be asked out loud. It is not a medical, psychological, or emergency service.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 16 to hold an account, and at least 18 to be the paying member of a family.
- You may only invite a parent with their knowledge: the ritual starts with your personal heads-up and Aya's own introduction, and continues only if they choose to reply.
- One family per subscription. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or resold.
3. The parent is always in control
These are conditions of the service, not just features:
- Any question may be skipped without explanation.
- Any answer may be sealed by saying so in the voice note. Sealed answers are permanently private.
- STOP ends all messages the same day. We honor it immediately and without argument.
4. Your content and ownership
- Your family owns its archive: every voice note, transcript, question, and reply. We claim no ownership of your content, ever.
- You grant us only the limited licence needed to operate the service: to store your content, transcribe unsealed voice notes, and generate questions and replies from them.
- We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not sell or share it. See the Privacy Policy.
- You can export the full archive at any time, and take it with you if you leave.
5. Honest limits of the brain
Aya's replies are generated from the parent's recorded words. Aya is designed to admit gaps rather than invent, but it is software: transcription and generation can contain mistakes. Replies are a reflection of what was said, not a substitute for the person, and should not be relied on for legal, medical, or financial decisions.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Aya to harass, deceive, or impersonate anyone, or to message a person without their knowledge;
- attempt to access another family's data, another member's private questions, or any sealed content;
- reverse-engineer, scrape, resell, or misuse the service;
- upload content that is unlawful or infringes someone else's rights.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules. Where safety allows, we will warn you first.
7. Trials, subscriptions, and gifts
- Aya starts with a free trial period for each family. No payment is taken during the trial.
- After the trial, Aya is a per-family subscription, billed in advance and renewed automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; service continues to the end of the paid period.
- A parent may purchase a one-year gift for their children. Gifts are revealed only after real answers are waiting, never an empty box.
- If we materially fail to provide the service in a paid period, we will refund that period. Statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
8. Ending the service
- You may close your family's account at any time. We will offer a full export, then delete everything within 30 days.
- The answering parent may stop at any time by replying STOP; this ends questions to them but does not delete the family's existing archive, which remains the family's.
- If we ever discontinue Aya, we will give every family at least 90 days' notice and a full export of their archive before anything is removed.
9. Liability
We provide Aya with care, but "as is": we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not liable for indirect losses, or for the content of voice notes exchanged within your family. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (including for intent, gross negligence, or personal injury). Our total liability is otherwise capped at the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Changes and governing law
- If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you plainly and in advance. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance; if you disagree, you may close the account with a pro-rata refund of any prepaid period.
- These terms are governed by Italian law. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected, and consumer disputes may be brought in your local courts.
